[My Day in Three](https://schoonens.social/categories/mdit/) for today:

1. We left Austria this morning at 06:30 and returned home a little after 18.00. Traffic wasn’t too bad today. We spotted a deer early this morning while driving down the mountain.
2. I enjoyed listening to the [Top 2000](https://www.nporadio2.nl/top2000) all day today, especially when Kraftwerk was on with [Autobahn](https://song.link/i/726155181) while we were cruising the ‘3’ through Germany.
3. We had a quick family dinner at [this](https://theehuisrhijnauwen.nl) restaurant just before we returned home, as we didn’t want to order or prepare a meal ourselves.

[My Day in Three](https://schoonens.social/categories/mdit/) for today:

1. We had our last day in Austria today and enjoyed yet another day of blue skies and sunshine.
2. Holidays always end with packing your gear again before going home, so did ours this afternoon.
3. Once the car was all packed, we headed down to the [Après Ski](https://www.hannes-alm.at) to close out the week. Tomorrow we will be driving back home.

1. We started Christmas Day a little later, after a good night’s sleep.
2. We planned a 30-kilometer ski tour for today. My wife started in the morning, and after a Christmas lunch in [this restaurant,](https://www.wiesenalm.at/en/) I did the second half of the tour. We selected the restaurant because it was reachable by car, so my son could easily join, as he can’t ski this year.
3. We had a lovely Christmas dinner in our hotel. In the end, it was a traditional Christmas Day with a lot of food and family fun.

1. My wife and I skied together this morning while my daughter was skiing with a friend from school who happens to be in the same skiing area as us. I have great respect for my son, who is showing some serious resilience this week.
2. Former colleague and tech tinkerer friend Thijs connected with me today. We will try to meet in person next week when I’m back in the Netherlands.
3. We dressed up as a family for our Christmas dinner in our hotel. My daughter did my wife’s hair, which was amusing to watch.

1. I installed a self-hosted version of [Actual Budget](https://actualbudget.org) as I want to investigate if this could become my replacement app for managing my finances.
2. I watched [The Penguin Lessons](https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/1086497-the-penguin-lessons) with my son this afternoon while my wife and daughter were skiing. This movie is about an English teacher who regains his compassion for others thanks to an unlikely friendship with a penguin.
3. My wife and I made plans for the remainder of our holiday here in Austria. It’s not easy for my son to see the rest of the family skiing while he can’t.
