I tested out my new easy and long run shoes this morning during a short 4-kilometer easy run. These Asics are the same model as my past three pairs; they are just a different color (and a better one if you ask me). There is always something magical to the first 100 meters on a new pair of running shoes; it’s in those 100 meters that you feel your previous ones weren’t good at all anymore after 630+ kilometers.

This was a 45-minute easy pace run that went well. I’m happy with my results. As it’s very sunny, warm, and humid today, I ran in the half shade as much as I could. I feel my body is recovering and getting stronger again. I will keep this up for now, as there is absolutely no need to intensify anything.

My running isn’t working out at the moment. My legs still feel sluggish, and I’m unable to get any proper pace in them, and on top of it all, my body metrics are off, too. It’s a bit frustrating as I have no clue what the root cause of this situation is. It’s as if I need to start from the ground up after not having run for an extended period, which isn’t the case.
Anyhow, for now, I will continue to plan for short 30-minute runs with at least one or two days of rest in between. Hopefully, I will see myself improve again over the next two to three weeks.
