This was a fun run to complete with my son. We ran up to the highest point near our holiday home (224 meters of elevation gain) and covered a total distance of 7.76 kilometers in 50:39. This was my fourth run in this area, and I can feel my body and muscles adjusting to the different types of terrain. Depending on how temperatures evolve next week, I will continue exercising here.

This 8-kilometer recovery run in the Marche, Italy, was fun and challenging. I initially wanted to go out for a 10-kilometer run, but I decided to shorten it because of the increased intensity added by the 222 meters of elevation covered during this distance. This is something my body isn’t used to at all.
I covered the 8 kilometers in 54:27, maintaining an average pace of 6:48 per kilometer and an average speed of 8.83.

The Italian slope next to our agriturismo is perfect for a proper hill workout. I completed three sets of 60, 45, and 30-second intervals, with 120, 90, and 60 seconds of downhill recovery in between. This was a fun and challenging workout. The total distance measured is 2,75 kilometers of running up the hill, including a 5-minute warm-up and a 5-minute cool-down.

Now that I’ve arrived at our friends’ Agriturismo in Italy, I’m back on familiar terrain. The terrain here differs from what I’m used to in the Netherlands, so I started today’s run easily.
Running in this scenery always makes me happy, although it’s not always safe with speeding Italians on the road who aren’t used to runners or bikers being on the same road.
