After finishing the series about detective Blix and journalist Emma Ramm, I started reading the English crime series featuring detective Erika Foster, written by Robert Bryndza. Below are my thoughts on the published books in this series:

The following books have been published in this series.

1. The Girl in the Ice – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – I had to adjust to Bryndza’s writing style, particularly in how he introduces the main characters, including Erika Foster. However, as the story progressed, it became increasingly enjoyable, and the characters developed nicely.
2. The Night Stalker – ⭐️⭐️ – This story took a while to gain momentum. I found the pacing lacking, which is something I typically appreciate in a good crime novel.
3. Dark Water – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – (Thoughts pending)
4. Last Breath – ⭐️⭐️⭐️ – An exciting and gruesome story, but it felt a bit long-winded. The thrilling pace I expected only picked up in the last five chapters.
5. Cold Blood – ⭐️⭐️⭐️ – This book was excessively drawn out, making it challenging to finish. After five books, I’m pausing my journey with this series for now.
6. Deadly Secrets – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – This sixth installment was the most enjoyable so far, with a great balance of pace and tension.
7. Fatal Witness – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Maybe the best book in this series till date. I didn’t experience a lot a tension while reading this story but the plot and characters were good.

Vandaag las ik het laatste boek in de Robert Hunter series tot nu toe. Met het lezen van ‘The Death Watcher’ heb ik weer een volledige reeks met thriller/crime boeken gelezen. De Robert Hunter boeken zijn nog niet allemaal vertaald naar het Nederlands en daarom heb ik boeken 5 t/m 13 in het Engels gelezen.

I read a lot of books in all sorts of genres. One of the genres I appreciate professionally is management literature. I use these management books to understand how to approach specific challenges in my career. Reading these books is about being inspired, as there is no such thing as copy/pasting management practices. I’ve seen too many managers and leaders do this throughout my career. I can tell you that in such scenarios, you will always fail. Every work/company environment is different; there is no such thing as copying/pasting yourself out of a professional challenge.
