↦ My approach to running a link blog

5 January 2025 ·

The way I use my link blog has evolved substantially in the eight months since then. I’m going to describe the informal set of guidelines I’ve set myself for how I link blog, in the hope that it might encourage other people to give this a try themselves.

  • What Will We Do With Our Free Power? In 2023, the world installed 444 gigawatts of new solar photovoltaic capacity, according to BloombergNEF. While that figure can be complex for normie brains to process, it represents a staggering step forward: nearly an 80 percent year-on-year jump and more than was cumulatively installed between the invention of the solar cell in 1954 and 2017. Although solar power still provides just under 6 percent of global electricity, its share has nearly quadrupled since 2018, an exponential curve that is expected to continue for some time.

  • Songlink is a platform for sharing links to songs or albums independent of your streaming service. Their website offers a few iOS shortcuts that make sharing from within the Spotify and Apple Music apps easy.
  • The reMarkable Paper Pro is out. I ordered the device during launch week because it’s the reMarkable upgrade I’ve been waiting for for quite some time.
  • Just like every year, the MacStories reviews of watchOS 11, macOS Sequoia, and iOS and iPadOS worth your time.

  • Following Mastodon hashtags through RSS is a neat way to follow Mastodon topics without visiting the platform itself.
  • The True Size Of…. I love this website and use it regularly to see how big US states or other countries are compared to Europe. The Mercator Projection inflates the size of objects on the globe, and as a result, we often have no clue how countries compare to each other.
  • Sonos’ app fail is leading to hardware delays and profit warnings and will cost up to $30M.
