Cold Blood by Robert Bryndza is a crime thriller in the Erika Foster series. This is the fifth book in the series. I’m suffering from completion syndrome reading this series, as I don’t enjoy the books as much as I do from other crime series, yet I still want to read them all.

March/April running progression
This is a follow-up post to my earlier post on measuring my progression in my running activities. I’ve added the months of March and April to my stats for 2025 below.

Where March was a very good running month for me, April has been somewhat disappointing. I had to give in on my average pace and on my total duration spent running. The drop in pace and duration is primarily due to some fatigue I’m dealing with due to a hectic month at work.

I’m going to try to pick things up again in May and June, as I’d like to be fit enough to run in the Italian hills this summer.
Run Log 20250430
This was my much-needed 6k run after three days of walking through Berlin. I took it easy tonight as my legs are still tired from the 25000 and more steps I did for the past three days while walking through Berlin.
Overall, April 2025 hasn’t been my best running month of the year; with a little over 77 kilometers run, this is the month with the fewest kilometers in the year to date. I should accept this given the travel I had planned for this month (nine flights, six different cities, two continents), but I experience I have a hard time dealing with the results.
On to the next month it is, no complaining, only more training. Next week I’m back to the half marathon schedule I was working with, I will go back two weeks in the schedule to pick up things from there.

This Kingsday run is the first and only run I can complete this week. I’ve been traveling Europe since last Monday evening, and I’m only home today as I will be going to Berlin tomorrow with my son for a father-son trip.

Week 6 of my half marathon training plan
Week 6 was a good week for running. I slowed down on my longer and recovery runs and intensified my training during my two interval/speed runs. I covered a total distance of almost 28 kilometers this week, more than double that of last week.

I started Easter the right way with two different training sessions on the track before going out for our family Easter brunch.
Training one was about shifting gears between different paces, training two was at recovery pace.

I did my fourth run of the week this morning. It was a so-called ‘Power Pyramid’ on the track near my house: 1-min, 5-min, 10-min, 5-min, 1-min, with different durations of active recovery intervals in between.
