thingsThisWeek #006

7 February 2025 ·

This week was filled with work, travel, running, and family time. Although I enjoyed being in Switzerland, I’m also happy to be going back home again today.

Have fun reading this week’s ‘thingsThisWeek’.

  • The workweek started on Sunday for me. I traveled to Zürich, Switzerland. I will be here for the whole week for our client event. I’m still amazed at how my employer does these types of events. The professionalism and attention to detail are exceptional. The bar is being raised every year, and it makes me proud to be part of this company and lead our international Product journey.
  • I’ve been struggling with my health a bit on Monday and Tuesday, possibly due to a light flew and increasing stress levels. Both are showing in my running and sleep metrics. I don’t like being confronted with performance degradation, but I know I must be patient. Everything will improve soon. Patience in improving my running remains one of the hardest things for me to do.
  • Wednesday was a big day. I delivered a keynote speech to our enterprise clients (picture below), my first external keynote since I took this role a year ago.
  • I started the first season of ‘Slow Horses’ on Apple TV.
  • I did all my running exercises on the treadmill this week. It was less boring than expected.
  • Tapestry was released last Tuesday. I backed the Kickstarter last year and subscribed to the annual plan this week to ensure the Iconfactory team behind it is rewarded for their work. I haven’t had time to use the app properly, but I have seen that it looks amazing. I’m looking forward to the connectors the community will come up with soon.
  • Friday night is reserved for family time. We will dine out together to catch up on everything that happened last week while I was away from them.

@camiel Sounds like a busy week indeed! I get it from the running prospective. It is hard when you just don’t feel it some weeks or runs because of sleep or feeling under the weather. I just tell myself it will come and better to not always push myself when I am down or it will take that much longer to get back to 100%. Hope things start clicking again once you are homebound for a while.
