thingsThisWeek #017

27 April 2025 ·

The previous week has been fun and exhausting. Enjoy reading my thingsThisWeek below.

Previous thingsThisWeek’s can be found here.

  • Monday was a bank holiday in the Netherlands. We call this day ‘2nd Easter Day’. We have a family tradition of enjoying a family brunch at the beach on this day, and so we did this year. During this year’s brunch, we had a ‘+1’ as my son’s girlfriend also joined us. We enjoyed our time at Barbarossa, our favorite beach club in Scheveningen.
  • I flew to Milan on Monday evening to join my colleagues from the US on Tuesday morning. We traveled through Europe on our corporate jet to do three ‘Product and Technology’ reviews with our teams in Italy, Germany, and the UK. The days were exhausting due to full agendas but also very rewarding, as my teams made so much progress in the past twelve months.
  • As we were flying through Europe, we had some spare time at the end of our days to walk through the cities of Milan, Bremen, and Bristol. All three are unique and beautiful in their own ways. I added some pictures below this post.
  • Saturday was Kings Day in the Netherlands; my kids celebrated it while my wife and I stayed home to work gardening in the sunshine.
  • We also packed for our planned city trips to Copenhagen and Berlin. We are leaving on Sunday morning and returning on Tuesday evening. My wife and daughter are visiting Copenhagen, while my son and I are visiting Berlin simultaneously.

I am a husband and proud father to three children, an Apple fanboy, a runner, a reader, and a photography lover. In my spare time, I’m always looking for a software or hardware side project to tinker with.
