This is another thingsThisWeek which I wrote on Monday morning instead of Sunday afternoon. We celebrated my youngest’s 14th birthday yesterday, and because of this (and the Grand Prix of Monaco, and the Indy 500), I didn’t spend time behind my computer.
I hope you enjoy reading my reflections on last week.
- I went out for lunch on Monday afternoon with two former colleagues with whom I worked between 2006 and 2016. It was great seeing each other again and learning about how our professional and personal lives have progressed in the past 9 years. Fun fact: We had lunch at a place where we used to go regularly back in the day. It was fun to experience how nothing had changed there at all.
- I spent the entire week working from the Netherlands, which was a nice change.
- I didn’t do any running from Monday to Friday to give my body some extra time to recover from the previous week.
- My son won the championship in his field hockey league on Saturday, and my daughter strengthened her lead position in her league. With three more weeks to go, there is a high likelihood that her team will also win their championship.
- The fathers of two of my friends passed away this week. One on Monday and one on Wednesday. 😢
