Enjoy reading my thingsThisWeek number 18, previous thingsThisWeek’s can be found here.
- This week was still ‘Spring Break’ or ‘May Holiday Week’ in the Netherlands. Traditionally, we always go for a short holiday break during these two weeks that the kids are off from school. This year, my wife and I took a different approach. We each took one of our children on a city trip in Europe. My wife and daughter went to Copenhagen, and I took my son to Berlin.
- I had never been to Berlin myself, and neither had my son, so it was a new city for both of us to navigate. We liked Berlin a lot. Each of the city’s neighborhoods differs a lot from each other, leading to a new experience wherever you decide to go. We enjoyed and touched by the history and museums that Berlin has to offer. Much of our European history has happened over there, and given where we are today with our geo-political climate, there is really a lot of ‘food for thought’ when you stroll around the city.
- This Saturday afternoon, my wife and I are visiting a Dutch vineyard near Amsterdam with friends. After that, we will have dinner in this awesome restaurant.
- Running has been challenging during the month of April; I wrote a separate post on it. I will try to pick up my schedule again as of the following Monday. Since I have no travel planned for next week, I should get back on track.
- Work was fun and energizing this week. I worked on some strategic business cases for future product ideas with one of my team members. Our thoughts are coming together really well.
