thingsThisWeek #013

30 March 2025 ·

Last week was fun, focusing on friendship and laughter.

Enjoy reading my thingsThisWeek number 13.

  • My new desktop computer arrived on Wednesday afternoon. It’s still all boxed up, waiting for me to return home later this week. I’ll be home again late Thursday evening and will start playing around with the Mac Mini M4 over the weekend. I look forward to using this workhorse for photo editing and playing around with technology. I can’t remember when I had my last desktop computer. I think I’ve been working on laptops for at least the previous 15 years, both in my private and work life.
  • I did my 2024 taxes as I mistakenly thought I had to submit my tax statement before April 1st. I learned later this week that the deadline is May 1st. I should remember for next year.
  • I traveled to Marrakech on Thursday with three friends. We’ve known each other since 1997 and have traveled annually since 2020. Once every 4-5 years, we leave the country longer to travel to a city abroad. This year, the destination was Morocco, and it was a fantastic experience.
  • I will fly from Marrakech to Lisbon tomorrow as I need to be in Portugal from Tuesday onwards for work. I’ll be staying just outside of Lisbon in the city of Cacais. I’ll be away from the family for 8 days, which is long, even for someone like me who travels a lot. I never mind being abroad, but not being home during the weekends is always a bit tough.

I am a husband and proud father to three children, an Apple fanboy, a runner, a reader, and a photography lover. In my spare time, I’m always looking for a software or hardware side project to tinker with.
