In the past week, I spend 50% of my time in the Netherlands and 50% in the USA. It was a fun and energizing week that went by very fast.
Enjoy reading my thingsThisWeek.
- The first work day of the week, especially after a holiday week in the snow and sun, was a tough one for me. I had to catch up on a week’s worth of emails and meeting outcomes while preparing to travel to our company headquarters. The day’s highlight was reconnecting with a former team member from my previous employer. We talked about the possibility of working together again in the future, which would be fun.
- I flew to the USA Tuesday mid-day Central European time and arrived in New York in the second half of the afternoon local time. This was the first time I took this flight as I usually leave earlier in the morning and arrive earlier in the US day. By the time I arrived at the hotel, a large part of the US day was over, and I could freshen up and go to bed for a good night’s sleep. I will retake this same flight next month.
- Thanks to my jet lag, Wednesday and Thursday morning started at 05:00 on the treadmill. I completed a 30-minute and a 37-minute run while listening to the ‘Grandmix 1994’ from Ben Liebrand. I got into these Ben Liebrand albums again after discussing with my son last week what music was about when I was his age today. These Grandmix albums bring back good memories of my teenage years.
- Slow Horses Season 1 on Apple TV+ is amusing. Season one dates back to 2022, but I’ve only started watching this recently after getting a tip from a colleague.
- Saturday and Sunday were all about relaxing and enjoying the spring weather. I think we’ve been outside the majority of both days, walking, running, gardening, and reading. A perfect weekend.
