thingsThisWeek #004

25 January 2025 ·

This is my fourth weekly notes post in a row and my first one in English as I decided to write the majority of the posts in English (again) earlier this week.

Enjoy the read.

  • Work-wise, Monday and Tuesday were very packed and long days. This results from being off in the second half of the week. I had to bring forward several meetings because of this. My new manager started on Monday. The onboarding process, company and culture-wise, is relatively easy as she has been with the company since 2019.
  • I spent quite some time finalizing my talk for a large client event next week in Zürich. We did several rehearsals this week with all the presenters, and more will follow in the next 10 days or so. This is a big event, and everything needs to be perfect.
  • I spend Wednesday driving to Austria. It’s a 950-kilometer drive from where I live. I’m in Austria with two friends for a short ski trip. The drive was without traffic jams and went smoothly. We had good laughs in the car and plenty of time to catch up on life.
  • Thursday till Sunday have all been about skiing. We were on the slopes daily from 09:00 to 16:30 and made fantastic tours in the Alps. Pictures will follow soon. Some are already up on my Pixelfed account now.
  • Spending 5 days with some of my best friends has been great. Going back a long time together really brings a different perspective to friendship. Conversations go deep without effort, and that is worth a lot.
